The Nike Basketball site wrote a nice piece on Brandon Roy after his game 2 performance in which he dropped 42 points on 2 of the best defenders in the entire league. The article also goes as far as claiming Roy as one of the next big things, possibly surpassing Deron Williams and Chris Paul. Love it.
As we all know, people are quick to put Utah’s Deron Williams and New Orleans point man at the top of the point guard list. But based on last Tuesday’s performance and a season average of 22.6 points, 5.1 assists, 2.2 steals and 4.6 rebounds, Roy has led his team to a good postseason start and is keeping himself on the radar as the next big thing.I'm obviously a Blazers fan but I've been making this exact statement for months now. Chris Paul should never have ended up ahead of Brandon Roy in the MVP voting this year and fortunately for the rest of us, people are starting to put Roy ahead of Deron Williams. I'm not taking anything away from those 2 as they'll like be hall of famers, but Brandon is due some elite level credit.
