Blazers Talk to Turkoglu - $8 Million per Year Offered?

Apparently "your" Portland Trail Blazers made the 12:01 EST call to Hedo Turkoglu's agent last night to get the ball rolling on the opportunity he may have here.  Ric Bucher reported that the Blazers offered him $8 million per year...why would they be throwing out numbers already?

Here is a cap from HoopsWorld and Turkoglu's agent:

"Kevin Pritchard and Tom Penn called me at the earliest possible moment and expressed enthusiasm for engaging in discussions about Hedo becoming a Trail Blazer," Babby said late Tuesday night. "We have begun that process."

According to HW, Pritchard first contacted Roy and Aldridge.
