The Afterparty: Suns/Blazers Game 27

A party full of post-game links and coverage to give you every over-analyzed angle in hopes of making your Blazers IQ that much greater.

Last night, Jerryd Bayless pulled off things that few Blazers have ever done.  He was so remarkable, that the socialite fans weren't rushing to "beat traffic" with 5 minutes left when I've seen them racing for exits in double overtime battles.  He had fans so excited that even the "SIT DOWN!" 60 year old guy was on his feet telling people to stand up.  He was so explosive...he broke Twitter.  Congrats playa.

The major positive you can see from this game though, is the power of role players.  Blake stepped up.  Martell might have been as clutch as anyone on the court.  Przybilla had another 10 boards.  They need these types of performances if they ever want to win on a consistent basis.  We all talk about how important these guys are right now because of injuries, but realistically, they are just as important with a team at full strength.  In fact, if your role players play anywhere near the level that we saw last night, Portland might be unbeatable.  Laugh at that for a minute and then sit on it.

Side note...What up Channing!  Peace.

Why isn't a LMA a double double guy every night?Oh,I know ,He likes jumpers too much, which also keeps him away from the boards.IMO he should be gettin 10 boards every night on athletic talent alone..

If the guy ever wants to live up to his large contract or be an all-star, his entire game needs to change. Wonder if that'll ever happen?

About This Blog

This Portland Trail Blazers blog definitely isn't your basic "recap/report the news" kind of blog. We tend to lean a little to the sporadic and unsystematic side of this young and sexy basketball team. Oh, and you'll definitely see a lot of Blazer Dancer action around here, so bring your bucket of ice.
