15 Thoughts vs. Los Angeles (Clippers) 1/26

Assuming “your” Portland Trail Blazers play up to 75% of their potential, this game should be done within the first 10 minutes.  The Clippers are putting out their entire D-League team tonight in Los Angeles to hopefully pull off some sort of miracle on Staples Center street.  Luckily for them, the Blazers are excellent at playing down to crappy competition and this game will probably be closer than we would all normally be comfortable with.

8.  Oden vs. Mystery C.  +1 Blazers
9.  Aldridge vs. Mystery PF.  +1 Blazers

The "Mystery SG" is Eric Gordon (unless Mike Dunleavy goes insane and gives the starting SG spot to Ricky Davis - ugh), who is this year's "rookie surprise" for the Clippers. I added Gordon to my fantasy team when Roy's hamstring injury weakened my team's SG depth, and I haven't regretted it (the 41 points he scored against the Thunder two games ago were especially appreciated). Not to say that I can see him outplaying Roy, though.

Oh, and Brian "creepy goatee" Skinner still sucks for getting Jarrett Jack kicked out the Blazers' last game in Phoenix last season. At least he got tossed too, followed by getting tossed out of Phoenix and into Clipperland. Owned.

I'm assuming it will be Gordon, he's been stellar lately, but the "Mystery SG" just added to the effect of it all. :P

This should seriously be a 30 point blow out. As long as Portland comes to town with their heads on tight, they should have no problem. Even with a scrappy bunch of young pups playing for LA, it shouldn't matter. But things will likely get chippy...

About This Blog

This Portland Trail Blazers blog definitely isn't your basic "recap/report the news" kind of blog. We tend to lean a little to the sporadic and unsystematic side of this young and sexy basketball team. Oh, and you'll definitely see a lot of Blazer Dancer action around here, so bring your bucket of ice.
